6. People that actually believe Eve was born out of Adam’s Rib!? (and kept reading thinking this is the word of God?)

7. People that don’t believe evolution exists, sorry folks,  its an observable biological fact of life, obviously you were either asleep, skipped, completely ignored, or never took biology 101!

We’re ALL to blame, but let the market forces sort it all out!

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

There’s plenty of blame to go around for this economic crisis…
and we’re ALL to blame for this economic mess.
we’ve become lazy and spoiled living on credit.

Market after market industry after industry have been deregulated and striped of reasonable oversight by the “free market.” The “free market” politicians we the people elected.
bubble-crash bubble crash bubble crash…Karl Marx’s proposal number five explains this cycle: government control of capital. every time the government steps in and “Saves us” by throwing more money at the problem. its gotten to the point where the government is borrowing money internationally to do it. So now our tax dollars go to pay the interest off of these loans…
injecting money doesn’t improve liquidity, that’s bullsh1t and its never worked, ever. Milton Friedman was wrong.

All you hear is this bailout is the only way. bullsh1t
This bailout plan blows its the socialization of wall street. a huge government grab of capital

Where are the indictments?

The secretary of the treasury has become more powerful than the president!?

Whatever happened to the free market? letting the market forces correct themselves?
Milton Friedman was wrong. Speculation is bullsh!t, money value should be based on real commodities like gold.

Raising the FDIC limit to 250k was a ok move to sweeten the deal, but its still not sweet enough.

How about:
The interest on car and credit cards being tax exempt again?
Wouldn’t it help to be able to write off interest paid on credit card and car loans like you can with mortgage interest?

Instead of buying toxic assets with a 50/50 bet on any possible future return..
Why not direct deposit every tax paying American citizen $100,000 via the IRS system?
That’s a better bet because most of us will actually pay off our bills with that money, and actually be able to start saving money and start having the money BEFORE we buy.

Its not a sustainable system we have going here, every crisis uncle SAM is there to intervene
Yay capitalism! we truly are free! yeah right!

There’s money in the system, big drop Monday, look what happened Tuesday, it went up?
Come one free marketers stand by your idealism and let the market forces correct it all! Too big to fail my a$$, let it fail, you were too big to begin with then.

Let the heads fall and the doomsday come, we’ll all come out of it much better off!

We are making an impact!

Thursday, June 1st, 2006

The scientific debate is over, the verdict is in:
We are making an impact on this planet with our piling up garbage, vehicle emissions, and unrelenting greed to burn fossil fuels for our daily energy needs.

Yes I know, the same old environmental gloom and dome statement that we independently minded souls keep preaching to the choir… Ok, people are making that statement. What are we going to do about it? If you want to change the world, change yourself. Think about your impact, and what you can do to offset it with some good karma!

Two other quick thoughts: one related and one unrelated.
If you put an ice-cube into a glass of water and cover the top and let it melt the water level actually goes down. This is correct and has been being used by skeptics who still think global warming isn’t real. The one major point this theory/argument fails to address is the fact that the glaciers and ice are ABOVE the ocean, or in this case above the glass of water, and therefore raises the level of the ocean, I mean the glass of water.

Double Standard thought
There is no middle ground in whether you are for or against the death penalty in America. You are either 100 percent for or against it. There is no fair, painless, or just way to kill somebody. The death penalty should be abolished. I am completely against it. It is a failed experiment. Its a double standard in this country. For example, Does telling your child not to hit people while you’re hitting them make any sense? No it doesn’t, so why the hell is it illegal in this country to kill people and yet the country can kill you?
Bam, that’s the double standard, its wrong, and America needs to evolve already, don’t kill period. (Unless of course they don’t believe in your God)

ps.
but Eddie it costs money to jail these psychotic people for life… ok, then deport the bastards to North Korea, put them in a plane, strap a parachute on them and push them out. How was Australia founded again? Oh yeah, wasn’t it the English who deported their prison population down under?

Or instead of parking the space shuttles in museums, lets launch them forever into space packed full of our most violent human offenders. Or lets take the projected cost we would spend keeping them in prison and build new space rockets that would carry the prisoners to outer space and have them be our long distance space explorers. This is a great solution for solving our nuclear waste storage issues as well…

One Fact and Two Options

When the scientific method fails, the only thing left is choice.
Life after Death boils down to one Fact and two Options:

Fact:
nothing physical goes with you.

Options:
1. your (consciousness/spirit/soul/whatever you call it) continues on.
2. your (consciousness/spirit/soul/whatever you call it) ceases to exist.

Option 1 has two paths:
If your (consciousness/spirit/soul) continues on, it either gets stuck in the state it was in when you died or it continues to exist and develop.

Option 2 has no path, you are just dead.

The more intelligent choice of belief is option 1, because if your consciousness gets stuck in a permanent state when you die, you’ll have a lifetime’s worth of experiences/memories to enjoy or dread…

If your consciousness continues on, you’ll have a great head start on developing your soul.

And if you end up being just dead, at least you’ll have had a great adventure getting to that moment.

Shatter the status quo!

Monday, May 2nd, 2005

Bring political and religious discussions back into social conversations!
Talking politics & religion is not taboo! Bring a bible or news article with you and highlight passages you agree or disagree with, read it out loud and start the fight! Bring up a hot subject and duke it out!

Organizing Mass protests these days is a total waste of time, its ineffective.
the system of power these days always has violence in their arsenal, they have unlimited resources to control the propaganda. So stop wasting your time trying to win the propaganda war. Instead focus on things that actually are effective in changing the world. Promote the idea of living responsibly, Promote sustainability. Constantly bring up the everyday impacts people are making with their trash, their inefficient vehicles, their religion, their beliefs. Shatter the status quo!

Bring up politics at family gatherings, dinners, holidays, the classroom, wherever, have the debate! Don’t hide your politics. You know what’s right and what’s wrong stand up and fight for it.
Muster up the courage to have that very uncomfortable argument & conversation with your family members. Make it awkward, trust me you’ll turn something that feels like boring obligation into something that feels empowering and down right interesting. Lose the debate/argument or win the debate/argument it doesn’t matter, you actually learn more if you lose!, the point is HAVE the debate and engage in it often!!!

Archetypical Neo-Greenie

Sunday, April 20th, 2003

Yeah, I could afford any car, but the Prius is my vehicle of choice. Its a gas-sipper, and a statement of conspicuous nonconsumption. I’m a Prius driving, eco-this, eco-that, look-at-me environmentalist…

Yeah, I want to tell a more interesting story about myself by constructing my identity as a narrative…

Yeah, I want to produce fewer emissions, minimize external harm, lower resource consumption, and let everyone know that I’ve made a deliberate choice to do so…

Yeah, I want to be seen as someone who’s concerned about the world around me…

Yeah, I want to know the source of what I buy and where it came from…

Yeah I associate organics with not just healthy eating, but low-impact, earth-friendly, sustainable farming…

Yeah, I want others to see that I’ve done this eco-thing or that eco-thing, so that others might see themselves doing this…

So I guess you can call me neo-green, eco-capitalist, eco-radical, or whatever the new label of the times might be…

But one thing I’m not is attention starved. Its not about trying to get people to like me.
Its inevitable that somebody, somewhere may not like me. I don’t care if you do or don’t like me, it ultimately doesn’t matter.

My mantra is reduce, reuse, recycle and I vote with my wallet.
