We are making an impact!
Thursday, June 1st, 2006The scientific debate is over, the verdict is in:
We are making an impact on this planet with our piling up garbage, vehicle emissions, and unrelenting greed to burn fossil fuels for our daily energy needs.
Yes I know, the same old environmental gloom and dome statement that we independently minded souls keep preaching to the choir… Ok, people are making that statement. What are we going to do about it? If you want to change the world, change yourself. Think about your impact, and what you can do to offset it with some good karma!
Two other quick thoughts: one related and one unrelated.
If you put an ice-cube into a glass of water and cover the top and let it melt the water level actually goes down. This is correct and has been being used by skeptics who still think global warming isn’t real. The one major point this theory/argument fails to address is the fact that the glaciers and ice are ABOVE the ocean, or in this case above the glass of water, and therefore raises the level of the ocean, I mean the glass of water.
Double Standard thought
There is no middle ground in whether you are for or against the death penalty in America. You are either 100 percent for or against it. There is no fair, painless, or just way to kill somebody. The death penalty should be abolished. I am completely against it. It is a failed experiment. Its a double standard in this country. For example, Does telling your child not to hit people while you’re hitting them make any sense? No it doesn’t, so why the hell is it illegal in this country to kill people and yet the country can kill you?
Bam, that’s the double standard, its wrong, and America needs to evolve already, don’t kill period. (Unless of course they don’t believe in your God)
ps.
but Eddie it costs money to jail these psychotic people for life… ok, then deport the bastards to North Korea, put them in a plane, strap a parachute on them and push them out. How was Australia founded again? Oh yeah, wasn’t it the English who deported their prison population down under?
Or instead of parking the space shuttles in museums, lets launch them forever into space packed full of our most violent human offenders. Or lets take the projected cost we would spend keeping them in prison and build new space rockets that would carry the prisoners to outer space and have them be our long distance space explorers. This is a great solution for solving our nuclear waste storage issues as well…
